B&W Backyard

I just had to spend a few minutes outside today (the cold is gone and the after effects are dimishing) - the birds were literally calling to me (not to mention the dog wanted to stretch his legs).  Brought out the big-girl camera and 60mm macro lens just to see what I could see.  Thought I'd share a couple of images - a work in progress.

Sunflower bud

Dandelion - maybe I should have made a wish?  Commonly found in many areas, but I still enjoy capturing their delicate edges - hard to believe the seeds have such a good hold onto the parent plant.

What did you see in your backyard?

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

  1. Breathtaking! I love macro images and these are amazing in B&W! I'm visiting your blog through FOL, although I've met you also through Kat Eye Studio. I'll look forward to visiting again!

  2. Pretty images. Simple but beautiful. Visiting from FOL.

  3. I'd love to learn more about macro lenses. Mi esposo really wants me to learn in order to take good photos of his gemstones. I don't really know where to start. Most of my gemstone photos have been a mess.
