Wordless Wednesday 7-25-12

This image was in a previous post, but I thought it would also be appropriate for Wordless Wednesday.  To equestrians, this posture has meaning - to others it may appear as if he is saying "na na na na na."  What it is he saying to you?

    1. Soft eyes, forward ears, and he is licking & chewing - a sign of respect to the rider - a good thing - he'll listen to his rider.
      Thanks for stopping by.
And this time of year is always hot in Texas - but not as hot as 2011.

    1. We sometimes laugh & say the same thing - his opinion of doing actual work (he was walking - very slowly). But the entire face & licking/chewing is showing respect for the rider.
      Thanks for the visit!

    1. True, no words - but a lot of messages/information conveyed in a horse's face.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Looks like she's chomping the bit! Is this a dressage horse? I used to compete when I was younger!

    1. YES!! Dressage horse, thoroughbred (16.3 HH) - they were in the walking warmup - licking & chewing, soft eyes, nice ears - what a rider wants to see. My daughter rides this horse & is competing in Intro level and schooling at training level this year. Do you still ride? Many of the images on my blog are taken around the barn since we spend many hours there. Thanks for visiting my blog.
