Wordless Wednesday

Beach Object

Being a little bit adventurous (crazy), my sister and I headed to the beach on a very chilly, windy day last week.  Looking at what washed up, we ran across this very interesting beach item.  I haven't done anything to this image - no cropping, color changes, filters -- this is the way we found it.  We were surprised at what the object really was.
Connecting with Wordless Wednesday (which once again I couldn't resist adding a few words).  Visit here to see links to other images.

    1. It was a piece of trashy, rubbery feeling, just a strip - but same color as sand. It could have washed up from nearly anywhere.

  2. It kind of looks like the top of a shell buried in the sand, you have me wondering what it is. I love finding things on the beach.

    1. We thought it was a shell at first - a very unusual shell, but turned out to be a strip of rubbery feeling trash - same color as the sand. Guess the tidal motion curled it around into this shape. Thanks for visiting my blog.

    1. Thanks for visiting my blog. We make an annual visit to this beach right after Christmas - very cold, but we get the beach nearly to ourselves & always find interesting things.

  4. Seriously. What is it? It's hard to tell how big it is by the photo….

    1. Thanks for stopping by - I'll have to check out the Wordless Wednesday Blogger site.
It turned out to be a strip of rubbery feeling trash - probably put into this shape by the wave motion. It was the same color as the sand, so we couldn't identify it's origin.

  5. I agree with the others...what is it? A shell? A really old slap bracelet? A dried bannana peel?

    1. Wish we could have identified exactly what it was - didn't think of an old slap bracelet - but it was a strip of rubbery trash - same color as the beach sand. Thank you for checking out my blog and hope you'll come back.

    1. Thank you for the compliment - it is a very simple shot. Cold is kind of relative --- it was 47 degrees, but the wind was blowing - for the Gulf Coast of Texas that is pretty darn chilly! We also found some other things that I'm still trying to identify (even consulted some biology people I know) and hope to post in the future.
I appreciate the "following" as well - hope you'll return!!
